Section 05 / release status

Release network

Linux targets, the HardwareJS runtime, and the HardwareJS Toolchain move on separate version lines. This graph records the tested intersections: which compiler substrate and machine release belong with each wasm32 kernel port.

Versioning model

One system, three independent histories.

A kernel number names an upstream backport target; it is not a HardwareJS release number. HardwareJS and the compiler toolchain are revisioned products of their own. A platform bundle freezes one known-compatible point from each line, similar to the way an Emscripten SDK release pins a coherent compiler and runtime.

Where the histories meet.

HardwareJS release networkLinux releases 6.0 through 7.1 form the upstream line. The available Linux wasm32 6.12 port connects to HardwareJS 0.1 and HardwareJS Toolchain 0.1. Dotted lines connect the Linux wasm32 7.0 port in progress to the planned 0.2 runtime and toolchain. Compatibility sets

Versioned as a complete platform.

Each platform bundle identifies a tested kernel port, host runtime, and compiler toolchain. Dotted graph edges and a planned state mean the compatibility set is not yet a release.

The next integration line. The kernel port and both product releases remain in progress.

Distribution context

Ubuntu markers are reference points.

The amber branches show the upstream kernel line associated with each Ubuntu release’s initial general-availability image. Ubuntu LTS hardware-enablement kernels can move forward later, so these markers are context—not compatibility claims for HardwareJS.
